I need to take a break from here for awhile and not worry about this tribe falling apart. This tribe was my pride and joy and is the largest Pagan tribe here. So I'm seeking among those here who I have known for a long time whom I can temporarly pass the mantle to. Some one who can look after the tribe for me, not change anything and be willing to pass the modship back to me when I'm ready. I have very little time for tribe other than to check messages once in awhile. Between working and busy working on stuff on my homestead I have very little time left for anything. Plus I'm getting married/handfasted in the Fall. So if you are a friend/long time active member and willing to sub as a mod for me please message me.
Also I have been receiving numerous complaints from different members about "K". As you all know I rarely ban people from this tribe. In the 6 years since I created this tribe I have banned only 3 people. There are members here I have had heated debates & disagreements with that are still here. Even my ex is here (LOL). So I need everyone here who has a problem with "K" to hash it out here and come up with what we should do about him. I prefer not to ban him. But in all fairness, he does have interesting stuff. Its the "high moral ground" tone of his presentation I have to agree with others I don't like. Also "K" has a right to defend himself in this thread. But I don't want you bashing him. I want you discussing what shall be done and any personal name calling and attacks will be met with a banning. If you can't intellegently articulate your disagreements with one another without stuping to the level of insults & name calling then you are not mature enough to be here. Telling someone you disagree with them for this and that is ok, but telling them you disagree with them cause you think they are a "idiot", "stupid", "moron' or "A Fucktard" is not acceptable. This is Pagan Village not The Osbournes. University style debates are ok, schoolyard insults is not.
Play nice and have a GREAT BELTAINE!

Re: Need someone to run Pagan Village awhile for me.
Tue, April 28, 2009 - 10:17 PMFirst off Gypsy, congrats on your upcoming marriage. I understand you needing to take a break from moderating this tribe.
As far as K goes, I have these thoughts.
I have an issue with anyone posting LONGGGG articles like his. I gave up trying to understand any points he was trying to make long ago. He also comes off as annoying. I'm also unclear as to why Buddhism is being discussed in a Pagan tribe. <shrug> Even so, I give K some credit. He seems to be the only one posting any content to this tribe lately.
Having said that, I'm also disappointed by Scott starting a thread called "Kick the K." I guess it's much easier to publicly bitch and moan than it is to just ignore someone you have an issue with. I've also gotten in pissing matches with a handful of people in this tribe over the last three years or so. I finally realized the best way to deal with them was to ignore them. As far as those of you who want K banned, I'll ask you this. Has he actually done anything that merits him being banned (aside from being an condescending little bleep)? If so, what was it?
If he has broken any tribe rules, then kick him out. If not, let him stay.
Besides, it's not like many folk are posting here anymore. Whatever he does post will be ignored by most.
Ultimately, it's your call Gypsy. Or at least until you find a new moderator. -

you ask why Buddhism is being discussed in a pagan forum? because it's pagan! yup. pagan just means any religion that's not Abrahamic (Jewish, Christian or Islamic). to anyone who's not interested in Buddhism...how hard is it to just not read the Buddhism-oriented threads?
peace. -

OK. Fair enough. Actually I haven't really read them in full, other than to get partway through a couple of them and stop. I'd ask the same question to the others openly complaining about K.

I'd also like to chime in that Tibetan Buddhism in particular has got a lot in common with western-paganism. It's very very heavily influenced by the indigenous Tibetan religion called Bon, which is a polytheistic/shamanic religion, tied to nature and the environment in a big way. The two mixed in a way very similar to the way Christianity and paganism mixed in early Common Era Europe.
Bon itself is actually still practiced on its own:
