I suggest performing spells just for Him/Her to participate in, design a Kitten Happiness spell , something with string, butteflys,food,(prey food, not kitty chow)and hiding places. Let your Kitten participate and MOST IMPRTANTLY, learn how to LISTEN.
For that youll need inner silence. Practice this above all, and you will learn a great deal.

To often we forget that THE MASTER cannot learn, so we must always be listening,( to our inner voice, and to our hearts) And remain humble, and strive not to become the master, but simply a better student. Learn from your new friend, and be willing to teach as well, but if this IS to be your familiar,you must always remember that you are no greater than he.

MY familiar was a great teacher, and brooked no huffiness on my part, it was she that taught me that even though one may be small, one can teach great lessons. Above all, one CANNOT believe that one is greater than their familiar, it MUST be a relationship of equals, different, but not greater than/less than.
